Visual artists and writers become engaged in a wonderful collaboration as they gain creative inspiration from each other’s work in this multidisciplinary exhibition of art and literature. A variety of media including painting, photography, mixed media sculpture and fascinating poetry and prose are employed by the artists to bring life to this unique show.
One of the objectives of this show is to bring about a synergetic connection between visual artists and writers as they are given an opportunity to experience the work of one another and to respond to it by producing new works in their own artistic discipline. Visual artists were asked to interpret visually the literary works (mostly poetry and short stories) submitted by the writers. In return, the participating writers were asked to create new writings in reaction to visual art works that they were assigned. The resulting exhibition is clear evidence of the wonderful creative potential that emerges out of genuine creative cooperation.

IMAGE and IMAGINATION
Friday, March 21, 2008 (8 PM)
In conjunction with the Bath House Gallery, "Image and Imagination" is a multi-media show featuring the works and words of the artists from Verse and Reverse accompanied by improvisational music by Austin saxophonist, Carl Smith and Dallas' multi-instrumentalist, Kim Corbet.
As the art is projected, writers read from their collaborative work with improvisation interpretations by the musicians plus a surprise to two, creating an edge for the audience to stride with humor and fresh choices.
