Produced
by Kim Corbet.
White Rock Rhythms is in its second year of providing great
jazz to Bath House Cultural Center audiences. Kim Corbet
produces the First Sunday matinee series, which is sponsored
by the City of Dallas Office of Cultural Affairs.
Participating groups prove the great diversity of the mostly
underground Dallas jazz scene, with styles ranging from
traditional swing and New Orleans Street beat to contemporary
progressive and the Avant Garde.
On Sunday, December 5th, 2004, The Flipside Trio brings
their post-modern bop to the Bath House stage. The Flipside
Trios musicians are Dave Monch on saxophones, Paul
Unger on bass and the tornadic Dennis Durrick on drums.
Flipside has stirred the Dallas Jazz waters for over a decade
with their boisterous Lower Greenville gigs. They combine
bebop, freejazz and a heaping portion of New Orleans Second
Line, drawing large crowds to the Winedale Tavern and The
Elbow Room in long running residencies.
This
is their first White Rock Rhythms concert and it promises
to be a rousing, inspiring time for all.
Come on out and enjoy free jazz at the Bath House.
