WINGSPAN THEATRE COMPANY PRESENTS

ART ON THE FRIDGE

By Valerie Brogan Powell
Directed by Cynthia Hestand
Featuring: Regan Adair, Linda Comess, Paige Reynolds and Dennis Millegan

"Art On The Fridge" comically tears the plastic wrap off of some of our psychological leftovers as it examines the coldest relationship of all. Do we really know what lurks in the corner of the kitchen? Is it really just an appliance? You may never look at your refrigerator the same way again!

Valerie Brogan Powell a noted local playwright with over sixty professional productions to her credit including seven scripts commissioned and produced by Teatro Dallas. Ms. Brogan Powell's stirring one act "Only Me" was commissioned by WingSpan Theatre Company for the Festival of Independent Theatres 2000. Ms. Brogan Powell received a Dallas Critics Forum Award in 2000 recognizing "Only Me" as Best New Play. Ms. Brogan Powell's newest full-length play "Gem of the Hills" was part of WingSpan's New Play Reading Series in April 2002.

Cynthia Hestand directed the critically lauded productions of "Only Me" and "Grace & Glorie" for WingSpan Theatre Company. Ms. Hestand received the Dallas Critics Forum Award in 1999 for her direction of Theatre Quorum's production of "Serenading Louie". Her most recent directing project is "The Importance of Being Earnest" at Plano Repertory Theatre.

WingSpan Theatre Company was founded in May 1997 for the purpose of producing quality plays that have seldom or never been produced in the Dallas area. A particular emphasis is on plays written by and about women, nurturing newer works, and supporting the development of playwrights.
