EL CORAZÓN Art Exhibition

A passionate and eclectic exhibition of diverse creations inspired by the heart.

Opening Reception with the Artists:

Reception program:

7 PM – Comida del Corazón (Food from the Heart)
A Valentine’s Day-inspired cooking demonstration and tasting presented by Guadalupe Díaz de León

8 PM – Music From Latin America
Dallas-based group, Cantares, presents a lively show of indigenous and traditional music and dance that explore the various cultures from South America.

Free and open to the public


This passionate and eclectic art exhibition features diverse creations inspired by the human heart (El Corazón), an important symbol in Mexican and Latin American art, and a significant theme in western culture.  This art exhibition features the work of over 40 artists from Dallas-Fort Worth, San Antonio and Austin. A wide array of paintings, sculptures, photography, and mixed-media art pieces are included in this fascinating exhibition.

Hernandez, Stefani Hernandez, Johanna Hulsey, Kathy Kromer, Lisa Lindholm, Santiago Lopez, III, Tim McMeans, Sandra A. Moreno, Barbara Mulley, Larry Pile, Kelly Rathbone, Shayne W. Ridenour, Kate Schatz, Raul Servin, Terry K. Smith, T. Stone, Diane Torres , Utopia and Julie Zarate.

Jose Vargas, Gallery Coordinator of The Ice House Cultural Center, is the curator of this exhibition. An active visual artist himself, Mr. Vargas has displayed his art photographs and paintings extensively in local and regional art venues. Mr. Vargas conceived the annual El Corazon and Virgen de Guadalupe exhibitions and has curated both shows for the City of Dallas Office of Cultural Affairs with great acclaim since 1994.
