2007 FESTIVAL OF INDEPENDENT THEATRES

THE BLUE ROOM by David Hare

RISK THEATER INITIATIVE

Playing a multitude of characters, Dallas actors Ashley Wood and Lydia Mackay take the audience on a disturbing, poignant, and oftentimes hilarious journey through a daisy-chain of ten separate (yet interrelated) sexual liaisons. Based on Arthur Schnitzler's Der Reigen (an 1896 examination of syphilis in Austrian society considered too racy to produce in its time), Hare's adaptation premiered on Broadway starring Nicole Kidman and Iain Glen, and finds its regional premiere here.   Directed by Tom Parr IV  RATED NC-17 for adult situations, nudity and strong sexual content
